The 2009 MSA British Rally Championship welcomes another one-make rally series to the fold, as promoter M-Sport – the team behind the BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team has officially announced the new look Kick Energy Fiesta SportTrophy.
 
Now in its fourth successful year, five of the seven-round series events will follow the BRC, but the season opens in early March with the gravel Malcolm Wilson Rally, which is closely followed by the first BRC round – The Bulldog International Rally Wales.  The BRC’s second round, the Pirelli International Rally is next in April, followed by the RSAC Scottish Rally in June before a return to the BRC and a change to asphalt, with two iconic events, International Rally Isle of Man in July and the Toddsleap.com Ulster International Rally in August.  The series comes to a close on gravel with International Rally Yorkshire in September. RALLY-WRC-NORWAY 09On the closing day of the first rally of the season for Van Merksteijn Motorsport, the WRC Rally Norway, Peter van Merksteijn junior managed to win one more place and passed on Sunday afternoon in 19th position over the podium next to the Vikingship in Hamar. His father Peter van Merksteijn and co-driver Erwin Mombaerts climbed three places on the last day and finished the winter rally in 21st place. Read More »

Jason Pritchard’s Subaru Impreza N11 – Reg OU 55 DKN has been stolen from Builth Wells sometime between Saturday night and 9 am Monday morning.

The car is still stickered up as in the photo and as an open trailer was also taken it is presumed the car will be on this trailer.

kenny-telford09a1Telford based Nick Kenny so very nearly made it three in a row on last weekends Telford Winter Stages, a rally he has won for the past two years, but was unfortunately forced to retire from a strong second place overall with mechanical woes on his K-Motion supported Subaru Impreza.
 
21 year old Nick was reunited with co-driver George Gwynn for the second anniversary of their first outright win together but the pair knew that they faced some very stiff competition. And the task ahead was not helped by the fact that Nick had not competed for the last eight months and admitted to being rather rusty. Read More »
