renault-barc09aPrivateer racer Brett Paris (Southampton) set the early pace by going quickest during pre-season testing in the Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship at Rockingham Motor Speedway on Wednesday, 29th April. The 20-year-old driver, who returns to the single-seater Championship after finishing sixth last season, posted the fastest time in both the morning and afternoon sessions, his best at 1min 18.343s (89.14mph average). Called DIAL 09, it will allow two selected drivers to contest the Loughborough Car Club’s summer series of AutoSOLO and grass autotests for FREE at the wheel of a specially-adapted Nissan Micra. There is no stopping the world’s first virtual to real life racing driver Lucas Ordoñez, winner of the Nissan/PlayStation® GT Academy 2008.   Following a skilled performance in the Dubai 24hr race in January, where Lucas raced alongside established drivers such as Johnny Herbert, his journey into the world of racing shows no signs of slowing down.

Lucas has continued to impress the racing world with his dedication and his achievements as a driver and it has just been announced that he has been offered the chance to race alongside experienced partner Alex Buncombe in the upcoming GT4 European Championship.  The first races are at Silverstone on 2nd and 3rd of May and this will be Lucas’ first opportunity following GT Academy to prove himself behind the wheel of a racing car. The Revolution Wheels Rally Team has committed to support the Greenerways Rally on Sunday 14th June, the first confirmed entries for this essential test event.
 
Team boss, Warren McKiernan, will co drive for Rob Swann in his own car, which Revolution Team driver Swann used on the recent Pirelli Rally. He will be joined by the team’s engineer, Geoff Jones, who will also stand-in for Swann for the Revolution Team on the next BRC event, the Jim Clark Rally. Read More »
