pr_janice_jcpost02East Boldon based rally co-driver Janice Moore made her second British Rally Championship appearance of the year last weekend when she contested the Jim Clark International rally with Richard Sykes in his Suzuki Swift Sport Cup car.

Although both Sykes and Moore had competed on the Jim Clark rally previously they had never contested an event together before and their rally got off to a testing start when it became apparent after a few seconds into the opening Bothwell stage that calling the pacenotes was going to be difficult due to problems with the helmet intercom system and Moore struggling to see out of the car with the seat being set for Sykes’s usual co-driver. 2_JCR_380David Bogie set what he described as a “nice, quick, but cautious pace” to win the Jim Clark Reivers Rally – the fourth round of the Hankook MSA Scottish Championship.

The Dumfries driver powered his Mitsubishi Evo 9 through the Berwickshire lanes to finish fifteen seconds ahead of Euan Thorburn in a Subaru Impreza, with Willie Bonniwell, also in a Subaru, bagging the final podium spot, a further six seconds back.

Bogie, with co-driver Kevin Rae, was the fourth different winner in as many rounds this season. Read More »

Builth Wells based British Rally Elite member Jason Pritchard survived a holed radiator, intercom failure and a fifth gear spin to finish last weekends Jim Clark International Rally second in class as the season reaches the half way mark.
 
Jason, the reigning Citroen C2R2cup champion, has never had a clean run on the Scottish round of the MSA British Rally Championship and this year was no exception. A holed radiator before the start of the rally was hardly ideal and Jason, co-driven by fellow Welshman Andrew Edwards, tackled the opening loop cautiously. Six stages run around Duns, four of them in complete darkness, saw the Competition Cars Insurance assisted C2R2 Max trading times with reigning Irish champion Martin McCormack and by the end of the opening day the two young drivers were equal on times! Euan Thorburn-Jim Clark Rally 2009Duns based Euan Thorburn, at the wheel of a Revolution Wheels backed Subaru Impreza N12, impressed mightily on last weekends Jim Clark International Rally when the 23 year old, who ran as high as second for most of the rally, was awarded the Pirelli Star Driver nomination for the event, which counted as the third round of the 2009 MSA British Rally Championship.
