Richard Archer and Tom Ward continued their winning ways on round three of the British Rally Championship’s support series, the BRC Challenge, taking their second straight victory as the championship moved to the asphalt of the Jim Clark Rally. The win came despite their car making a bid for freedom near the start of the rally, rolling off down a hill and nudging a post while driver and co-driver were out of the car at the arrival queue for the Duns stage.

Guy Wilks, British Rally Champion in 2007 and 2008, will join the British team taking on the Irish and the Germans in the Nations Cup at the Rally Show at Chatsworth on 6/7 June. He will drive the Proton Satria Neo S2000 car prepared and run by Mellors Elliot Motorsport, with which he made such a stunning debut on the Pirelli Rally in April. Also in the British team is Steve Perez, at the wheel of the VK Ford Focus WRC07, and David Kynaston with his 3-litre Audi A3 quattro.

The Irish are represented by Kris Meeke, in his Peugeot UK S2000 207 and the Donnelly brothers, Eugene and Charlie, in a Toyota Corolla WRC and a Skoda Fabia WRC respectively. The Donnellys will be coming to Chatsworth on a high, since Eugene won the Jim Clark International Rally last weekend in the Skoda Fabia WRC. Read More »

Four times Irish Tarmac Champion Eugene Donnelly notched up his third international victory of the season last weekend (May 22-24) by winning Scotland’s ever-popular Jim Clark Memorial Rally.

After an epic battle, the Kumho-shod Skoda Fabia WRC of Donnelly and co-driver Paddy Toner finished just 23 seconds ahead of the Subaru Impreza of fellow Irishmen Tim McNulty and David Moynihan. Donnelly now leads the Irish Tarmac Championship from McNulty by 12 points and his many fans inevitably believe a fifth title is now on the cards. Read More »
