The Trackrod International Rally Yorkshire is the sixth and final round of this year’s MSA British Rally Championship and, after three events on asphalt, the season finale takes competitors back to a gravel surface for 90-miles of stages in the forests on the North Yorkshire Moors. Read More »

ktm gt4 sep09 testKTM successfully tested several new racing developments on its X-BOW GT4 over the final weekend of the 2009 British GT championship (19-20 September).

The invitation KTM racer, with Reinhard Kofler in the cockpit, qualified just 0.45 seconds behind the MTECH GT3-specification Ferrari 430 Scuderia for race one, and 0.70 seconds in qualifying for race two.  In each of the two races, the X-BOW was consistently over three seconds faster than the GT4 championship-winning Ginetta G50 around Brands Hatch’s GP circuit and one second faster than a strong invitation entry from Morgan.  Furthermore, Kofler lapped all the GT4 competitors in each outing.  The excellent performances were achieved despite enduring 30-second pitlane penalties in each race for voluntarily foregoing the mandatory driver change. clio rock09aTeam Pyro’s Phil Glew (Tothill, Lincolnshire) wrapped up the 2009 ELF Renault Clio Cup with Michelin championship title in emphatic style by securing two impressive wins during rounds 17 and 18 at Northamptonshire’s Rockingham Motor Speedway on 19th/20th September.

The 26-year-old who has led the one-make series from the very first round, needed just 25-points from the weekend to secure the title yet scored two convincing victories (a total of 66 points) to put him 143-points clear of nearest rival Total Control Racing’s Alex MacDowall (Carlisle) and hand his team its second consecutive driver title with two rounds left to play out. dutch championship vm sep09In the 28th edition of the Hellendoorn Rally, 4th place was claimed by Bernhard Ten Brinke and Hans van Goor with the Van Merksteijn Motorsport Ford Focus WRC 06 and scored valuable points for the fight for the title in the Dutch rally championship. suzuki sep09dThe MVR-D Suzuki Team regret to announce Carl Nunn’s withdrawal from the final round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship and the forthcoming Motocross of Nations event, after sustaining a fractured left Fibula in a first race crash at the ACU British MMX Championship, held at Culham in Oxfordshire yesterday.

Nunn, who has enjoyed a fantastic season of racing, winning the Red Bull Pro National Championship only last weekend, suffered a crash in the opening laps of the race as he was pushing hard and gaining from a strong third place start. Read More »

Britain’s Allan McNish bids for a fifth Petit Le Mans race victory at Road Atlanta in America on Saturday (26 Sep) and maintain Audi’s supremacy in the annual event.

The double Le Mans 24 Hour race winner drives Audi’s latest diesel-engined sportscar, the R15 TDI, in the 1,000-mile race.
