The MIA calls on all UK motorsport businesses to raise motorsport on the political agenda during this General Election.
From a business perspective, the upcoming General Election will be one of the most important elections in decades. It is important that all involved in motorsport use their vote as ‘A Vote for Motorsport’.
“Government policies can make our businesses more profitable and bring more sales growth,” said MIA CEO Chris Aylett.
“It is imperative that all UK motorsport businessmen, and their staff, vote and do so wisely, making sure that they, firstly, challenge politicians as to their views”.
The Motorsport Industry Association (MIA), being part of the Motorsport Alliance with the MSA and ACU, has produced ‘A Manifesto for Motorsport’, detailing key issues, currently of importance to motorsport. The MIA encourages anyone involved, or interested, in motorsport to read the Manifesto and ask their local politician, who is seeking their vote, to confirm his or her position on these issues, or on any other motorsport matter they wish to raise – and to consider their responses when voting.
The Manifesto for Motorsport can be found at http://www.the-mia.com/A-Manifesto-for- Motorsport>.
Manifestos from the Motor Sports Association (MSA) and Auto Cycle Union (ACU) are also available, which focus on important sporting issues.
To learn more of the current Government’s interaction with motorsport, the recently-published House of Commons Business, Innovation & Skills Select Committee report ‘Full speed ahead: maintaining UK excellence in motorsport and aerospace’ is available.
