An Orange invasion threatens to upset the status quo in the BriSCA F1 Stock Car World Championship weekend at MCM Coventry Stadium on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 September.

Not since 1955 – when Polish emigree Jerzey Wojtowicz VC lifted high the World Final trophy – has anything like a European name appeared on the roll of honour. In fact, the nearest the trophy has come to going out of the country was when Scot Jock Lloyd won in 1961 – at the time, he lived in Middlesex!

The Todds Leap.com Rally NI (or Ulster Rally as it’s generically known) is the one event of the year where the UK Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge meets its Irish equivalent. For teams contesting the UK series, which follows the Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship, this is the fifth of six rounds this season and, for those contesting the Irish-based Mitsubishi series, it’s the sixth of eight.

The Citroën Junior Team heads to Germany

Rallye Deutschland, the second asphalt round of this season, has been eagerly awaited by the Citroën Junior Team. Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia make a return to the cockpit of the number 7 C4 WRC and aim to replicate the potential they showed in Bulgaria, whilst Kimi Räikkönen and Kaj Lindström will feel more at home and more competitive on their preferred surface type.

“Everyone in the team has very good memories of our trip to Bulgaria,” commented team manager Benoit Nogier. “Kimi, who had so much to learn this year, showed just what he is capable of on his first asphalt World Championship Rally and Sébastien was very competitive too.

Loeb and Elena on the way to new records?

For Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena, Rally Germany is an exceptional event. Since its reintegration into the World Championship calendar in 2002, the Franco-Monegasque pair have won it on every occasion and they are determined to pursue their unbeaten record! In the Citroën Total World Rally Team’s second C4 WRC, Dani Sordo will have a new co-driver for the first time, Diego Vallejo.

After Bulgaria, Rally Germany is the second of the four asphalt rallies in the 2010 FIA World Championship. This event has nothing but good memories for the Citroën Total World Rally Team beginning with Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena’s first real victory (2002). Six more successes have followed, and Seb and Daniel hold the record for the number of consecutive wins in the same event.

Sagar dominates E2 at Dyfi

Team Putoline Suzuki by http://www.fasteddyracing.com  rider, Tom Sagar, dominated the fifth round of the Metzeler Britiish Enduro Championship at the weekend, winning the E2 class on both days at the Dyfi event in Wales.

Riding his RMX450Z, Sagar needed a good performance to keep his championship hopes alive, and set about it in the best way possible, winning the opening seven hour day at the challenging event.

Tough Farleigh Castle round for MVR-D Suzuki

Round six of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship proved to be a challenging event for the MVR-D Suzuki Team at the weekend, as Matiss Karro finished 10th overall after a pair of top-ten finishes and a DNF.

In what was not expected to be a great round for the young Latvian, due to the grassy nature of the Farleigh Castle track and his preference for sand, Karro rode impressively, starting well in the opening race by gating in second spot, before a race-long battle with Elliott Banks-Browne ended in a clash while making a move for third. Remounting, Karro pushed on, catching the pack but had to settle for fifth at the flag.

Audi is set on regaining its usual strength

After a disappointing race result at the Nürburgring Audi is aiming to turn the trend around at Zandvoort from August 20 to 22: in the second half of the season that will start on the Dutch North Sea coast the title defenders are set on regaining their usual strength.
