Wilks to entertain thousands with Škoda at Rallyday

Guy Wilks promises to entertain the expected 10,000 strong crowd with a spectacular driving display when he drives a Škoda UK Motorsport Fabia S2000 Facelift at Rallyday, Castle Combe, on Saturday 18 September.

Podium for Sebastien, fastest time for Kimi

At the end of a perfectly-controlled Rallye Deutschland, the Citroën Junior Team scores a podium for the first time on an asphalt FIA World Rally Championship event. Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia finished third behind the two factory Citroën C4 WRCs. Kimi Räikkönen and Kaj Lindström finished seventh, having claimed their first fastest stage time in the WRC.

Loeb and Elena score their eighth consecutive victory

After monopolising the first two places in the opening stage, the Citroën Total World Rally Team C4 WRCs gave the French team another double when the flag fell to signal the end of Rally Germany. Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena racked up their eighth consecutive victory in the event setting a new record. Dani Sordo and Diego Vallejo had a fault-free race on their first outing together and rounded off the team’s triumph. This event also saw the 32ndwin by the C4 WRC, equalling the Xsara WRC’s score putting it among the most successful cars in the history of rallying.

When battling for the lead in round five of the Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship, driving the JRM Mitsubishi Evolution X Gwyndaf Evans and co-driver Phil Pugh were forced into retirement after sliding wide and hitting a wall on stage 10, the impact rupturing a radiator pipe and consequently, with coolant leaking out, the engine overheated.

Meeke goes all out to beat his Czech mates

Peugeot UK’s Kris Meeke and co-driver Paul Nagle are this week competing at the Barum Czech Rally Zlín (27-29 August).  Round nine, with only four IRC events left, is the 40th running of the Barum Czech Rally Zlín, and will be another key round for Peugeot UK and Kris Meeke.  With the rally taking part in main championship rival Skoda’s backyard, scoring as many points as possible will be the key objective.

Category two victory for David Stokes and Guy Weaver and a stunning category three win for Connor Corkill and Rob Fagg headlined the action as the Dunlop/WONAGO.com MSA British Historic Rally Championship headed to Northern Ireland for the Ulster Rally (20/21 August).

The Citroën DS3 R3 triumphs on its debut

It’s mission accomplished for the Citroën DS3 R3, which made its competitive debut this weekend.

Bryan Bouffier and his co-driver Xavier Panseri claimed two-wheel drive and Group R victory on the specialised Irish roads of the Ulster Rally, ending the event in a superb fifth place overall.

More points for Pritchard on high speed Irish run

Builth Wells based Jason Pritchard and co-driver Robbie Durant survived a drama filled International Rally of Northern Ireland to record their fourth top six result of the 2010 Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship. The pair overcame a high speed moment and a time consuming puncture to finish the two day event 16 seconds ahead of arch rival, and championship leader, Jonnie Greer.
