Ford’s new challenger for the 2011 FIA World Rally Championship, the all-new Fiesta RS World Rally Car, made its first global public appearance at the Paris Motor Show today.

Racetech Racing seats appoint UK distributor

UK race teams and race drivers now have a new, world-class range of racing seats to choose from, with New Zealand-based seat maker Racetech having just signed a distribution agreement for its seats with Old Hall Performance Ltd of Coventry, England.

Although it is little known in the UK, the Racetech brand is a dominant force in its home territory of New Zealand and Australia and has also become well established in the US since opening there in 2001. Following the setup of a European base in The Netherlands a year ago, the company decided to select a suitable partner to distribute their growing range of products in the UK.

Rockingham offers massive savings for on-line bookings

Racing teams and drivers can now save time and money when purchasing a Winter Testing Pass at Rockingham, following the launch of a new on-line booking system on the circuit’s website.

The Northamptonshire circuit has made it easier for teams to reserve places through a secure store and – as a special introductory offer – anyone booking three remaining 2010 dates will receive a free garage – a massive saving of £150.

Peugeot UK to bid a fond farewell to Kris Meeke

After two fantastic years with Peugeot UK competing in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC), Peugeot will bid a fond farewell to the 2009 IRC drivers’ champion Kris Meeke at the end of the year, as today he announces his decision to take up a new challenge in the World Rally Championship (WRC) in 2011. Kris will, however, continue to drive for Peugeot UK until the end of the 2010 IRC season.

Le Mans champion Nick Leventis does 200mph straight down

British racing driver Nick Leventis will shortly attempt to set a new record for the highest altitude tandem-skydive with a jump over Mount Everest.

The jump is being made in support of Global Angels Foundation, an international charity supporting Asia’s most disadvantaged children. Nick, who’s Strakka Racing team won the LMP2 class at the Le Mans 24 Hour Race this year, has been an ambassador for Global Angels since 2008.
