The new SPEED EuroSeries will showcase the economic CN sportscars at every one of the super-popular Le Mans Series events in 2011. A mix of 90-minute and one-hour, two-driver races will feature on all Le Mans Series programmes, starting at the Paul Ricard Circuit in April. A sixth (additional) enduro is planned for June.

The SPEED EuroSeries, which is recognised by Honda Motor Europe, will feature Honda-powered CN chassis from the likes of Ligier, Norma, WFR, Wolf, Juno, Jade, Gloria, Promec, Lucchini, Osella and Radical. Control tyres and fuel will limit costs and a mandatory, sealed ECU ensures a level playing field. Global TV coverage is booked. Read More »

Audi aims to continue its string of victories at the Le Mans 24 Hours with a completely new LMP1 sports car development. Since its debut in 1999, the brand with the Four Rings has won the world’s most important endurance race as many as nine times with the R8, R10 TDI and R15 TDI models. In doing so, Audi has equalled this feat in the race’s roll of honour with Ferrari. Former sports car, rally and Formula 1 driver Vic Elford is the first star name to commit to appearing at the first Rally Show to be held at Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire, on 14/15 May 2011.

Now USA-domiciled, ‘Quick Vic’, as he was nicknamed, has a very impressive motorsport CV, the envy of many a current star. Having started out as a co-driver, a move across to the driving seat in 1961 saw the beginning of a legendary career which was to last for over 20 years. His first works drives were for Triumph, then Ford, with whom he distinguished himself on the Alpine Rally by winning the Touring category in 1964. But he moved to Porsche at the end of 1966. The Dunlop/WONAGO.com MSA British Historic Rally Championship will head to Scotland in 2011 with the announcement that the Colin McRae Stages (Saturday 1 October) will replace the Trackrod Historic Cup in the schedule for the coming season.

As part of the BHRC’s on-going consultation process with crews, and following an end of season poll, the 2011 championship will now include the Colin McRae Forest Stages Rally, organised by Coltness Car Club as its penultimate round. This event will run on Saturday 1 October and the event organisers have welcomed the championship to Scotland, and their rally in particular. Read More »

Audi has unveiled its latest sportscar which Britain’s Allan McNish hopes will enable him to score his third and the German manufacturer’s 10th Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race victory next June.
