5th Cleaner Racing Conference at the NEC, Birmingham – Key figures from the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA), Automotive Council and the Motor Sports Association (MSA), today agreed a way forward for a revolutionary ‘Motorsport to Automotive’ initiative which was proposed to the conference delegates.

Delegates talked of the future, and how the automotive and motorsport industries could best combine forces. Chris Aylett (MIA CEO) recalled when, in 2003, Ulrich Baretzky declared that Audi would soon win Le Mans with a diesel car – only to be greeted by much scepticism. Read More »

The Racing Steps Foundation is to provide sponsorship for InterSteps, the newly-created single-seater championship for junior racers.

The RSF’s investment will be used to fund track test and educational days.

The one-make national championship – aimed at 15 to 19 years-old drivers – has been conceived to provide an affordable route from karts to cars.

It will use the BMW-powered Mygale FB02 wings-and-slicks single seater designed and built for the former Formula BMW Championships. Read More »
