An automotive auction house, located in Silverstone’s new ‘Wing’ building, opened for business this week. A joint venture between Silverstone Circuits and Midlands automotive entrepreneur Nick Whale, Silverstone Auctions will specialise in significant auctions of classic cars, modern supercars, all types of competition cars, modern and historic motorcycles and automotive memorabilia.

The Citroën DS3 WRCs back on gravel

After kicking off on the snow and ice in Rally Sweden, the FIA World Rally Championship continues with seven consecutive events on gravel, starting with Mexico. Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena, spearheading the Citroën Total World Rally Team, will be aiming for their fifth victory in succession on the dusty stages in the Léon region. Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia will also be gunning for a win in the rally where they made their world championship debut back in 2008.

Second and fifth for JRM in British Rally Championship opener

JRM got its 2011 Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship campaign off to a flying start this weekend in round one, the Dorset-based Rallye Sunseeker. Driving the team’s two Group N Mitsubishi Evolution Xs, Tom Cave finished an impressive second and Daniel Barry crossed the line a credible fifth.
