Peter van Merksteijn jr. has to retire from WRC Rallye de France

Peter van Merksteijn jr. had to retire today with his Citroën DS3 WRC in the WRC Rallye de France. Together with his co-driver Erwin Mombaerts he went off on the slippery roads besides the track and damaged his car too badly to continue to fight for points in the World Rally Championship during the remaining two days of the rally.

MINI WRC Team – Rally France-Alsace – Day One

The MINI WRC Team is leading Rally France-Alsace at the end of day one after Dani Sordo (ES) proved just how fast he is with his MINI John Cooper Works WRC on tarmac stages. After taking 1hour 23 minutes to complete the 148.38 kilometres over eight stages Sordo and Carlos del Barrio (ES) were a second ahead of Petter Solberg (NO) in his Citroen. It was also a good day for Kris Meeke (GB) and Paul Nagle (IR) on their debut in this event as they were fourth overall in the number 52 MINI.

Rossetti with the Abarth Grande Punto at the 46th Rallye d’Antibes Cote d’Azur – European Rally Championship

Luca Rossetti and Matteo Chiarcossi, after having regained the lead in the overall standings of the European Rally Championship thanks to the points obtained in the 68th Rally of Poland, driving the Abarth Grande Punto S2000 bearing the colours of United Business, will be at the start of the 46th Rallye Antibes Cote d’Azur, which will be held from October 14th to 16th in France, with start and finish in Antibes and service area in Nice.
