Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today that it has renewed its contract with Red Bull Racing to continue serving as a Red Bull Racing Team Partner for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

Cornishman Matt Cotton returns to the British Rally Championship

After a break of over 3 years from international rallying, Cornish rally driver Matt Cotton will return to the British Rally Championship (BRC) in 2012.  The purchase of an ex Elfyn Evans Ford Fiesta ST has enabled Matt to end his sabbatical from driving by entering both the BRC and the Fiesta Sporting Trophy.

Wyedean Media Day

Another year and another trip down to Chepstow racecourse for the Wyedean Media Day. With the stage now not being used in the Wyedean Forest Rally we got the rare experience of doing the stage in the normal direction. This made the transition from the tarmac to the gravel section much more spectacular, entertaining the guests and us.

Honda signs up again with Yuasa for 2012 BTCC attack

World leaders in battery design and manufacture, Yuasa have signed for a third year as a key sponsor with the Honda Racing British Touring Car Championship Team.

The company has already played a key role in developing the Honda Civic BTCC success over the past two years and is now looking forward to working with the team on the new Civic making its BTCC debut at Brands Hatch on April 1.

The Easy Way to FIA FT3 – ATL Saver Cells

ATL has grown to become the world’s leading manufacturer of motorsport fuel cells and systems. A cornerstone of this success has been ATL’s ongoing development of fuel-resistant flexible composite materials. Since 1970, ATL has homologated a broad portfolio of materials which meet the tensile, tear and puncture strengths specified by the FIA’s FT3, FT3.5 and FT5 standards.

As it is the base-level FIA standard, FT3 is the standard most commonly specified by customers. In response to this demand, ATL developed a cost-saving semi-rigid material that passes all FIA FT3 safety tests – the Saver Cell.

Jay Kay brings 914-6 Porsche to Race Retro for rally reunion with legend Bjorn

Jamiroquai front man and self-confessed petrolhead Jay Kay is bringing his Porsche 914-6 to this year’s Race Retro for a reunion with one of its original drivers, rally legend Bjorn Waldegard. Bjorn will be seeing if the car stands the test of time on the high octane Live Rally Stage on Saturday 25th and Sunday 25th February, before Jay Kay himself gets behind the wheel.

Kumho deal sees Wright return to BTRDA series

Bentham’s David Wright will compete in the BTRDA rally championship this year after agreeing a sponsorship deal with Kumho Tyres.

Wright, who won the BTRDA championship title in 2009, will use the same Mitsubishi Evo 9 that he competed in last year. The GPM-prepared car will, in addition to Kumho, be supported by Proflex, Drenth, Grove Hill Garage and York Brewery.

For his first major event at the wheel of the Peugeot 207 S2000 Matthew didn’t miss the chance to show his full potential. It’s only Tuesday morning that the crew could meet his new car. “SaintEloc Racing Team has done a great job for us to be at the start. But if I only could do 70km with the car I was able to know its enormous potential. Certainly I have a lack of experience in S2000 but I feel very good in the car. I will do my best from the first meters to optimize my progress. ”

Gow: MG return ‘Fantastic news’

MG’s return to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship has been warmly welcomed by Series Director Alan Gow.

MG Motor UK has committed to building its new BTCC car – the MG6 GT model – to the Next Generation Touring Car regulations. These are leading to a greater number of bigger, faster, turbocharged machines on the BTCC grid for fans and media to savour.
