Bulldog Rally points haul for Cotton..

British Rally Championship contender Matt Cotton finished on the podium once again last weekend when he contested the second round of the world renowned series, The Bulldog International Rally of North Wales.  Cotton piloted his AVS Motorsport run Ford Fiesta ST to a worthy 18th overall and 2nd in class, ensuring he remains in the championship title hunt for the remaining rounds of the season.

Kick Energy scored a double podium during the second round of the Kenyan National Autocross Championship when Zane Young finished second in the Quad category and Geoff Mayes finished third in the rally car class at last weekends meeting at Jamhuri Park in Nairobi.

Sykes back to winning ways in Wales

Richard Sykes and co-driver Simon Taylor took their first win in three years on round two of the NGK Spark Plugs BRC Challenge after a tough day’s action that saw only eight cars reach the finish in Welshpool.

The battle throughout the day threw up some surprising twists and turns but by the time the cars re-grouped at the finish it was Sykes who would lead home Steven Smith and Daniel Johnstone in second place with Damien Smith and Paula Swinscoe in third.

Sykes storms into championship lead after Bulldog rally success

Stourbridge’s Richard Sykes took his first rally win in three years on the Bulldog Challenge event last weekend, a performance which put him in the lead of the BRC Challenge rally championship.

The Welshpool-based event, which was round two of the championship, started with the Big Ray stage.

Twingo Trophy: USA 1, Scotland 2

Californian Nick Allen and British co-driver Andy Bull won the inaugural event in the 2012 Twingo Renaultsport R2 Trophy UK this weekend, Scots pairing Garry Pearson and Craig Wallace taking the R1 Trophy honours on their second event in this series.

The event, Bulldog International Rally of North Wales was the second round of the MSA British Rally Championship, this year an all two wheel drive affair which has attracted drivers from around the world.

Vauxhall Ampera wins Monte Carlo Rally

After winning the “Car of the Year 2012” award, the Vauxhall/Opel Ampera has now also won the 13th International Monte Carlo Rally for electric and alternative propulsion cars.

Al-Attiyah and Neuville look to confirm progress

Nasser Al-Attiyah and Giovanni Bernacchini produced their best performance in the WRC last time out, claiming sixth position at Rally Mexico. The Qatar World Rally Team crew start the Portuguese round hoping to build on that result and continue gaining experience in their DS3 WRC. Similarly, Thierry Neuville and Nicolas Gilsoul (Citroën Junior World Rally Team) will be hoping to convert their undoubted pace into a first points finish.
