Round two of the MSA British Rally Championship, the Bulldog Rally, marked the best ever result for Citroën in British rallying history. Young Welsh ace Tom Cave took a splendid overall victory in his DS3 R3, and the 1600 turbo charged rockets filled the following three places. All eight of Citroën DS3’s that started the event finished in the top twelve places! Citroën UK now lead the Manufacturers series after two rounds. Read More »

The Prodrive WRC Team will make its debut at Rally Portugal next week running two MINI John Cooper Works WRCs for Dani Sordo #37 and Patrik Sandell #52.

Dani Sordo’s MINI will feature more than 100 modifications compared to the car that competed at Rally Sweden.  The enhancements have all been homologated under FIA regulations.  Read More »

The HRDC will dedicate its full programme of five historic races at the Castle Combe ‘Historica’ meeting on 9 April to the achievements of Alan Mann, who passed away on 21 March.

HRDC Race Director Julius Thurgood relays: “Alan Mann was a great friend and mentor to me and his encouragement towards the formation of the HRDC was inspirational, especially when the going was tough. His consistent encouragement and conviction that the HRDC ethos of serving the historic race driver was worthy of his support has inspired me to take this project forward to the highest level. After a dramatic day’s action, Tom Cave and co-driver Craig Parry emerged winners of the Bulldog International Rally of North Wales and in doing so, recorded their first MSA British Rally Championship victory.

They finished just three seconds ahead of Keith Cronin/Marshall Clarke, who were in-turn 11.7 seconds ahead of Jarkko Nikara/Petri Nikara – all three crews in Citroën DS3s and proving once again that the BRC’s two-wheel-drive formula provides ultra-close competition. Read More »

Our focus once again was on the Historic rally and with the stage cancellations that hit the International event, we made the right choice. It was a fine follow up win for Nick Elliott & Dave Price (Escort MkII) who were pushed hard by Julian Reynolds & Patrick Walsh (Escort MkI).  The victory margin was only just over 16 seconds which was a fantastic achievement for Reynolds in older technology. Kevin Davies & Dale Furniss (Escort MkII) completed the podium with 2nd place in the classics. The Historic category went the way of Rikki Proffitt & Phill Harrison (911) but only by 18 seconds after a fine drive by Dessie Nutt & Geraldine McBride (911). Read More »
