MItsubishi Motors’ 2012 Pikes Peak hill climb team & all-new all-electric racecar announce i-Miev evolution

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) will enter two all-electric vehicles (EVs) in the Electric Class of the legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Climb1. MMC will be aiming for victory in the Electric Class with the i-MiEV Evolution, a specially-prepared competition version based on the i all-electric vehicle2. MMC is also entering a regular production i in the event.

The new Maserati Trofeo begins in Spain

The 3850 metre-long Jarama circuit, in Spain, will stage the opening round of the 2012 Maserati Trofeo MC World Series. This year the calendar will include an event in the United States (Infineon, 23 September) and in China (Shanghai, 4 November). The six-race series will also include rounds at  Portimao (3 June), Imola (24 June) and Paul Ricard (22 July).

Ford dealer Elfyn leads British Rallying

The phrase “win on Sunday, sell on Monday” has never been truer than for Welsh Ford dealer, Elfyn Evans, who is currently leading the British Rally Championship, with three back-to-back class victories in his Ford Fiesta R2 rally car.

Elfyn, from Dolgellau – a salesman at his father’s Ford dealership, Gwyndaf Evans Motors, in Gwynedd – has won the first three rounds of the BRC, the latest being the Pirelli International Rally in Carlisle, last month.

Tomcats ready for Round 2

Tomcat Africa will head to this weekends Rally Raid on the Soysambu Ranch near Nakuru fully away that a good result for both of its Lynx off road vehicles is critical for their championship hopes. Eddie Belcher will pilot the completely rebuilt TVR powered Lynx whilst Sue Jauss will head up the all woman team in the sister car.
