Hindley, Meaden and Raven score on Tour Britannia

The eighth running of Tour Britannia has been judged another success by competitors after a field of 50 cars competed across two and a half days in Britain’s only race and rally tour.

When the tour ended in Harrogate on Friday evening (8 June), the major winners were confirmed as Phil Hindley/Andy Bull (competition), Richard Meaden/Nathan Blewer (targa) and Melissa Raven/Jeremy Haylock (regularity). The battles were close across all three elements of the event as Tour Britannia took crews to ten venues, seven of them new to the tour.

Every Nissan mile at Le Mans 24 hour will be a winner for British Forces charities

Nissan will use its significant entry in this weekend’s Le Mans 24 Hour race (16-17 June) as a catalyst to support British armed forces charities. Nissan engines will power no fewer than 14 cars around the 8.469 mile Circuit de la Sarthe in the 80th running of the world’s most famous endurance race. For each mile completed by one of the Nissan-powered cars during the gruelling 24 hours, Nissan will donate £1 to be shared by three fantastic causes.

Xtrac Engineering dominates at Le Mans

The Berkshire UK-based vehicle transmission design and manufacturing specialist, Xtrac, will again be the leading supplier of gearboxes for the legendary Le Mans 24-hour endurance race, which takes place this weekend (16-17 June).  The company will supply 30 of the 56 cars entered for the race with state-of-the-art transmissions as well as supplying other cars with high performance differentials and high precision steering racks.  The event is widely recognised as a highlight of the global motorsport calendar.

Special silver anniversary for RS500

It’s 25 years since Ford’s iconic Sierra Cosworth RS500 burst onto the world’s roads and racetracks and next month’s Silverstone Classic powered by the AA (20-22 July) will pay homage to the winged wondercar. Rally Queens triumph on Safari Rally
