TT Legends: New prime-time documentary follows ordinary men doing extraordinary things on motorbikes

TT Legends is a new eight-part documentary, to be broadcast on ITV4, following a team of legendary motorcycle racers throughout the 2012 season. Gaucho Productions was granted exclusive access to the Honda TT Legends team as they took on some of the world’s toughest ’bike races.  From Japan to Germany and from Le Mans to the Isle of Man, the documentary follows these ordinary men doing extraordinary things.

Motorcycle racing confirmed at Rockingham for 2013

Motorcycle racing will once again feature on the Rockingham calendar in 2013 following confirmation the Northamptonshire circuit will be hosting a round of the Thundersport GB National Championships next summer.

Superbike legend Foggy teams up with Bikesure

Four-time Superbike World Champion Carl Fogarty has teamed up with specialist insurance broker Bikesure to promote the brand for the next 12 months.

Fogarty is a legend of the track, having won seven world titles between 1988 and 1999, clocking up an unsurpassed 59 World Superbike victories.

Essex girl Charlotte to be a Motropoint grid girl

Bike-mad Charlotte Lawrence, from Romford in Essex, has been selected ahead of hundreds of applicants to be a grid girl for the Motorpoint Yamaha team at Brands Hatch GP this weekend.

Charlotte, 19, works as a receptionist for a building company, but has always wanted to become a full-time model. She will now take another step towards fulfilling that dream with the Motorpoint Yamaha team in the British Superbike championship this weekend. Charlotte has been photographed for Fast Car Magazine and Fueled Mag, as well as being the star of dedicated car websites, so she will be a great asset to the team on race day.

Yoshimura Suzuki leads Suzuka qualifying

Yoshimura Suzuki Racing’s Yukio Kagayama put in the only sub-2.08-minute lap during today’s Suzuka world Endurance Qualifying sessions in Japan, putting the GSX-R1000-mounted team at the top of the timesheets.

Kagayama clocked a lap of 2’07.884 in the first of three sessions, to beat Honda FCC TSR’s Kosuke Akiyoshi on 2’08.260 and Honda-mounted Musashi RT Harc Pro’s Makoto Tamada with 2’08.962.

Honda TT legends qualify in the top 20 for Suzuka 8-hour

The Honda TT Legends team completed its second day on track at the Suzuka 8-hour event by qualifying in 20th place. John McGuinness, Keith Amor and Cameron Donald took part in two 30-minute timed practice sessions each as temperatures at the legendary Japanese circuit reached over 33 degrees.

Replacement Muggeridge out of Silverstone encounter

Karl Muggeridge, who had been due to replace injured Castrol Honda rider, Ruben Xaus, at this weekend’s ninth round World Superbike encounter at Silverstone in the UK, has been forced to withdraw from the event.

Currently on vacation with his family in northern Italy, Muggeridge was training on a mountain bike on Tuesday when he crashed and sprained his right wrist. While no fracture was sustained, Muggeridge and his German HPR Honda team had no alternative but to withdraw him from the Silverstone event.

Donington looks forward to season climax

Following announcements made last month regarding the 2011 motorsport calendar at Donington Park, the Leicestershire circuit has confirmed the remaining events for the venue’s first year back to full racing action.
