Peugeot victorious in Zhuhai, China ILMC final race with a ’1-2′ finish to top off a great season

Peugeot finished 2011 in style with a sixth race win from seven races and a fourth one-two. Anthony Davidson and Sébastien Bourdais claimed victory at Zhuhai ahead of Franck Montagny and Stéphane Sarrazin, after a close race in which the Peugeot 908s once again combined performance, reliability and endurance. This one-two finish in China rounds off a successful year for Peugeot, which has seen them secure a second ILMC title.

Third win for Peugeot

Sébastien Bourdais and Simon Pagenaud combined performance, consistency and reliability to guide their Peugeot 908 no.7 to victory in the 6 Hours of Silverstone, after yet another sensationally fast race. This third race win of the season for Team Peugeot Total, combined with the eighth place claimed by Franck Montagny and Stéphane Sarrazin (Peugeot no.8) takes Peugeot one step closer to a second consecutive Manufacturers’ title.

Peugeot is Hungary for Silverware in a weekend of endurance and rally compettion

This weekend sees Peugeot campaigning its products in two disciplines – the six-hour ILMC endurance race at Silverstone with the formidable Peugeot 908 and with the Peugeot 207 S2000 in the hands of Guy Wilks and Phil Pugh in the Hungarian IRC Rally Mecsek.

Traditionally, the Le Mans 24 Hours begins with the “Pesage” Scrutineering organised in the city centre. For Team Peugeot Total, however, this year’s Le Mans kicked-off yesterday with a 125 kilometres cycle ride, starting from Chartres.

Not only is the Le Mans 24 Hours the highlight of Team Peugeot Total’s season, but it is also a unique event in the motor racing calendar. First race for Peugeot’s new 908 at the 12 hours of Sebring: 16-19 March 2011

The reigning Intercontinental Le Mans Cup champions, Team Peugeot Total will be racing for the first time the new Peugeot 908, in the 12 Hours of Sebring, next weekend.

Team Peugeot Total has entered two cars for next weekend’s race, the first round of the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup. The first car, racing as No. 7 will be driven by the 2010 driver team champions, Alexander Wurz, Marc Gené and Anthony Davidson. The second car will carry the No. 8 and will be driven by Franck Montagny, Stéphane Sarrazin and Pedro Lamy.

Team Peugeot Total produced a blend of panache and suspense to round off the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP’s remarkable career with a resounding victory in Sunday’s 1000km of Zhuhai (southeast China). It was a perfect performance from the team monopolising the front row of the grid and then taking a well deserved win. This fifth win of the season thanks to Stéphane Sarrazin and Franck Montagny in the N°2 Peugeot 908 HDi FAP, secured both the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ title in the inaugural ILMC (Intercontinental Le Mans Cup)!

Peugeot heads to China to secure ILMC title in final race of 2010

This weekend, Peugeot is preparing for another battle with its formidable rival in a bid to secure the inaugural Intercontinental Le Mans Cup at Zhuhai, China. In addition to scoring the points it needs to secure the crown, the team is also targeting victory to back-up its recent one-two finishes in Europe and the USA. Last but not least, Zhuhai will be the final competitive outing for the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP.
