Carnforth teenager Arron Newby continued his meteoric rise to stardom when he took outright victory on this weekend’s Chris Kelly Memorial Stages and in doing so, took the lead in the Eurostars Motorsport.com Manx Rally Championship.
After a top six placing where he was competing in the snow and ice of the Jack Frost Rally at Croft last weekend, Carnforth teenager Arron Newby continued his great form with another superb drive to take a brilliant third place overall on this weekend’s K&R Mitsubishi Stages held at Brean Leisure Park near Weston-Super-Mare.
Following a successive hat-trick of outright victories on his first three rallies in the TEG Sport -prepared Subaru Impreza last year, Carnforth teenager Arron Newby continued his great form with another superb drive to clinch a class win and sixth place overall on today’s Autogas 2000 Jack Frost Stages Rally held at Croft Circuit.
Finland’s Jukka Korhonen saved the best until last when he scored his season’s best result of fifth place in the final round of the 2012 MSA British Rally Championship which took place with the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire this weekend.
Continuing his excellent run of results which has seen him win the last three events he has contested in the Pirelli-sponsored TEG Sport Group N Subaru Impreza outright, 17-year-old Arron Newby was back in action in the car where he once again impressed as he recorded a superb fifth place finish on the three-day Duke Stages Rally.
Tricky conditions greeted competitors for round five of the 2012 British Rally Championship but despite mixed fortunes for both drivers, the Pirelli TEG Sport Team left the Toddsleap International Rally Northern Ireland in a positive mood.
Having sampled a taste of victory on his 4WD debut on the John Overend Memorial Stages Rally at Melbourne in May which he followed up with the overall win on last month’s Opposite Lock Stages Rally held at Manby Motorsport Complex, Arron Newby made it a hat-trick of wins with his latest victory on the Jane Cowling Memorial Phoenix Stages Rally yesterday held at Fulbeck Airfield in Lincolnshire.
