Caparo AP Braking were delighted to share Podium success with Howard Fuller (1st) in the Golf GTi,  Aaron Mason (2nd) also in a Golf GTi with Peter Wyhinny coming in a respectable 4th  driving a Seat Leon, in the Volkswagon Cup at Rockingham.  All cars were fitted with Caparo’s Racing Upgrade Kits and using Caparo’s 600 Racing Brake Fluid.

These prize winning cars were all fitted with an Ultra Light 6 pot aluminium caliper, a 352mm 2 piece aluminium grooved disk and aluminium bell. Designed, manufactured and tested at the Caparo AP Braking Leamington Spa Plant.  The Caliper and bell were all part of the specially engineered brake kit, which reduced the overall kerb weight of the vehicle. James ‘The Machine’ Wade, the world number three darts player, swapped his flights for spanners last weekend to be a guest mechanic working on the RAC Caddy Racer at Silverstone in the latest round of the Volkswagen Racing Cup.

As an ex-mechanic, James still loves getting his head under the bonnet and rebuilding engines, so he was delighted to be given the opportunity to work on the high performance Caddy van in the exciting atmosphere of a race day. Read More »

The Caddy TDI racing van will be competing in the Volkswagen Racing Cup in 2010 sporting bright orange livery thanks to a new sponsorship deal with the RAC, and it will also have a new driver with Simon Elliott, Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles taking his seat behind the wheel to try to make Volkswagen vans just as popular and successful on the track as they are on the road. ronnie aug09Three-time World Snooker Champion Ronnie O’Sullivan is to swap the green baize for black tarmac at Silverstone this weekend (15/16 Aug) and make his motorsport debut at the wheel of a 130mph racing saloon in the Volkswagen Racing Cup in association with Hankook.

‘Rocket Ronnie’ will drive car number 147, a turbocharged 2-litre Volkswagen Jetta, in two 20-minute rounds of what is one of the UK’s most competitive amateur championships. Read More »
