To mark 50 years since British F1 champ Mike Hawthorn’s untimely death on the A3, a memorial service to be followed by a celebration of the driver’s life has been arranged.

The latter is in the form of a cavalcade of Hawthorn-related motor cars. And the procession of vehicles worth an estimated £30-40m will include Guild member Guy Loveridge at the wheel of a Ferrari Dino 246 F1 GP car. Other vehicles include the 1955 Le Mans-winning D-type Jaguar driven by Norman Dewis. The event has been organised by Paul Roach, Mike Ballard and other members of the Mike Hawthorn Memorial Committee, with support from the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club. Read More »
