Treacherous conditions greeted the crews on the opening stages of the Malcolm Wilson rally. They caught out Steve Perez & Paul Spooner (Focus WRC) on stage 2, dropping a minute to their main rivals Paul Bird & Kirsty Riddick (Focus WRC). After slowly clawing back time the advantage had reduced to 41 seconds before Bird suffered a double puncture on the penultimate stage, leading to his retirement. Perez took an unlikely victory by 17 seconds from Jonathan Greer & Jonny Hart in an older Focus WRC which they were using for the first time. Over a minute further back were Roger Chilman & Andrew Sankey (Impreza) took the final place on the podium beating Paul Benn & Richard Cooke (Focus WRC) on a count back.

The rally was split into 4 and in the Silver Star proceedings were dominated by the Fiesta SportChallenge crews. Elfyn Evans & Andrew Edwards (Fiesta ST) took the honours by 18 seconds from Matthew Cathcart & Simon Hudspeth (Fiesta R2) with Geoff Wilson & Simon Martin (Escort MkII) third. In the 1400’s Matt Edwards & Sam Collis (MG ZR) took a fine 1400 victory after setting some superb times on the early icy tests, (on our timings they were equal tenth fastest to our point on stage 1 beating several WRC cars). Darren Pinchin & Karen Watts (Satria) were second almost a minute back with Callum Black & Paul Wakely (MG ZR) over half a minute further back in third. In the Historics Charlie Taylor & Steve Bielby (Escort MkII) took a comfortable victory.
