No fewer than 4 past Ranges rally winners have entered this Bala and District Motor Club event, which will ensure a close battle at the head of the field. Seeded at Car 1 are previous event winners Ken Pugh / Gwawr Hughes, they will be closely followed by Gwyn Thomas in his powerful Ford Puma.

An interesting debut on the Ranges will be local hotshot Ieuan Rowlands in his Volvo powered Mk2 Ford Escort, Ieuan is normally seen rallying in the forests scoring many notable giant killing results. The quality of the top ten entrants will mean that the winner can come from anywhere in this field should the top seeds falter.

Leading the event away and making his annual competitive return in the course car in memory of Gareth will be event sponsor and 2004 British Production Cup Rally Champion Dorian Rees in his Subaru Impreza.

The provisional Top Six for the event is as follows, this might be slightly modified post entries closing;

1.    Ken Pugh / Gwawr Hughes Lancer Evo 3
2.    Gwyn Thomas / Phill Harrison Ford Puma
3.    Ieuan Rowlands / Aled Edwards Ford Escort Mk2
4.    Richard Lewis / Emma Davies Ford Escort Mk2
5.    Geoff McQuilling / Rob Hopewell Honda Civic
6.    Chris Phillips / Sarah Hughes Peugeot 106

The rally gets underway on the Trawsfynydd Ranges at 9.15am, spectators are welcome and there will be a small parking charge at the venue with the proceeds going to the North Wales Air Ambulance.
