The world’s fastest Vauxhall will make a star appearance at the VXR Power Festival, to be held at Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire this Bank Holiday, August 28-29.

Packing over 3000 horsepower from its 8.8-litre, twin-turbocharged GM V8 engine, ‘Red Victor 3’ – a highly modified version of Vauxhall’s original 1967 Victor FD – will appear at the Power Festival to herald a new partnership between Vauxhall’s VXR brand and the Red Victor team for the 2011 MSA Pro-Modified Drag Racing season, with a car that is still street legal. Team Putoline Suzuki by  rider, Lee Edmondson, has today announced his withdrawal from competitive action for the remainder of the season, after being advised by doctors that his foot injury from last season has still not healed. Read More »

The Bentley Drivers Club 61st Annual Race Meeting at Silverstone on August 7th  saw fantastic racing from a wonderfully diverse range of Bentleys and other marques. And, in the true spirit of the original Bentley Boys of the 1920s, the event saw a number of owners of modern Bentleys turning out with their contemporary machines tuned and presented for racing against their vintage counterparts.

An unprecedented level of overseas interest in the Roger Albert Clark Rally could see up to 10 foreign crews start the event in November.

The growing reputation of the event in the world of historic rallying has sparked record demand for information from outside the UK and rally manager Colin Heppenstall says that interest from Europe is very high. “We’re having serious dialogue with 19 crews from outside the UK, including Belgium, France, Italy and Holland,” said Heppenstall. “The reputation of the rally is clearly getting out there and having foreign crews adds to the kudos of the event,” said Heppenstall. “If we get ten entries from those 19 people, I’ll be overjoyed.” Read More »

Aston Martin’s Design Director, Marek Reichman is to embark on his maiden race in a Vantage GT4 competing in the Aston Martin GT4 Challenge of Great Britain at Oulton Park on Saturday 21 August.

Marek, who is a keen motorsport enthusiast and regular competitor in historic club racing, will share driving duties with Aston Martin Engineering Manager, Chris Porritt; himself an experienced GT4 racer for the 90-minute race on the notoriously challenging Cheshire circuit later this month.
