What a weekend at Silverstone for our first Britcar 24hr?! Even the torrential ran did little to dampen our spirits as we witnessed a cracking battle between Ferrari and Porsche after the faster Moslers and stunning Aquilla all suffered various technical issues, resulting in them dropping huge chunks of time or retiring. Current Britcar championship leaders Team MJC Ltd only made a late decision to participate in this race and after a gripping last few hours their superior pace payed off as the Ferrari 430 GT2 of Witt Gamski/Keith Robinson/John Gaw/Phil Dryburgh took victory by almost a minute, winnning class 1 in the process.

2nd overall, and 1st in class 2, went to the Jet Alliance Racing Porsche 997 of Martin Rich/Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer/Marco Seefried/Vitus Eckert/Michel Nykjaer who had demonstrated superbly that 24 hour races are more about consistency than outright pace, leading through most of the hours of darkness and well into Sunday too. Completing the podium and winning class 3 was the Neil Garner Motorsport Porsche 996 GT3 of Javier Morcillo/Manuel Cintrano/Jan Persson/Rod Barrett/Jay Shepherd/Oliver Campos Hull. Rounding out the class winners was the superb Works Ginetta G40, which had been driven down from Leeds earlier that week, taking class 4 courtesy of Lawrence Tomlinson/Michael Simpson/Stewart Linn/Nigel Moore.

Video, which should be cracking, some time soonish…
