It was a windy affair up in the Scottish Borders this year, where David Bogie & Kevin Rae (Evo IX) took win no.3 of the season in the BRC. Overnight Adam Gould & Seb Marshall (Impreza) had kept Bogie honest, only 0.6s back, but through the first loop of stages on Saturday they haemorrhaged time due to various maladies and in the end were third over a minute back. The challenge then came from Jonny Greer & Dai Roberts (Fabia S2000) as they got to grips with their car on tarmac. Bogie’s differentials were starting to play up through the final few stages but he held on to win by 17.6s.

In the Asphalt series the splits in the stages were to play their part. Steve Simpson & Patrick Walsh (Impreza WRC) ending up just over 5 seconds behind Damien Cole & James Morgan (Focus WRC) claiming they had been held up on the final stage by John Stone, during the looped section of the stage. Behind the top two Simon Mauger & Brian Cammack (Escort MkII) came home third beating numerous WRC and 4WD drives as usual.

In the Challenge rally it was last stage drama which saw Richard Archer & Terry Martin (Corsa) win by just under 7 seconds from Richard Sykes & Janice Moore (C2R2 Max) with young hot shot Jack Rowe & Alex Lee only a second further back in their Fiesta R2. And lastly in the Historics it was Charlie Taylor & Steve Bielby (Escort MkII) who took victory from Roger Kilty & Lynette Banks (Escort MkII) with Andrew Smith & Alexander Procter (Escort MkII) completing the podium.
