After a night start from the Royal Automobile Club’s Woodcote Park; Dunsfold Park, home to the world famous Top Gear test track, will resound to the sound of Beaujolais bound cars; when it becomes the official UK starting grid for the 2011 ‘Run.

Unlike any other event, the ‘Run has special permission to follow in the footsteps of Hollywood stars Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz and more recently, reigning F1 World Champion Sebastien Vettel, on the world renowned figure of 8 track.

Running the Dunsfold Park circuit in its Top Gear configuration; navigators will guide their driver through Gambon and Hammerhead in Stig style en route to France.

Dunsfold Park has become internationally renowned for its unique landscape used for filming Casino Royale, Da Vinci Code, Batman Begins and Spooks. We are delighted that the 2011 ‘Run will be part of Dunsfold’s Park eclectic legacy, when we celebrate Jaguar and 50 years of the E-type.

‘Run Director Rob Bellinger said; “Driving the legendary figure of 8 at Dunsfold Park provides a unique opportunity for vehicles old, new, touring motorbikes and supercars to follow in the footsteps of many famous motoring enthusiasts”.

John Surtees OBE, Patron of the ‘Run said; “I have memories of Dunsfold Park from Henry driving his first race car, a Ginetta Junior, his first single seater, a BMW, and the first time in preparation for Goodwood Festival of Speed 2009 driving a Surtees car, the TS10 Formula Two.  The same type of car that Mike Hailwood had won the European Formula Two Championship with in 1972 and the same car that I had used to win the Japanese Grand Prix and Imola Gold Cup. The hanger we operated from was the same one as Top Gear.  It is therefore fitting that in this second year of supporting the Henry Surtees Foundation that, after a very successful and enjoyable event which started with a Reception at Henry’s old school at Worth and went onto Brands Hatch to be waved off by Nigel Mansell OBE, that The Beaujolais Run should feature Dunsfold Park and the Formula Two car that Henry last drove there.”
