The Twingo Renaultsport Trophy UK and the awesome Clio Renaultsport R3 rally car will be represented this Sunday at French Car Show, as three cars from the MSA British Rally Championship attend the Donington event.

21 year-old Cumbrian driver Peter Taylor, third in the BRC at its half way point, will drive his mighty 250hp Clio at the annual event organised by the team behind Performance French Cars magazine.

Twingo Renaultsport R2 Trophy UK leader Chris Ingram will join Taylor with his 190hp pocket rocket Twingo R2 Evo in giving passenger runs for Renault UK. The Stockport youngster is just seventeen years old, but maturing fast in the internationally renowned championship.

The drivers are fresh from the fourth round of the BRC, the Jim Clark International Rally, at which they had mixed fortunes; Ingram survived a huge moment on an infamous crossroads bump, to finish tenth at his first attempt, but Taylor wasn’t so lucky.

He had been as high as third place overall, but a puncture forced him wide on a slow corner, slipping into a yawning ditch. At the time of going to press, the car is still in the bodyshop to make it pristine again for the Donington event.

Peter Taylor will drive his Clio at Donington. Hopefully on the ground!

Finally, Monster Sport Europe, the company employed as Renaultsport Rally distributers in the UK, will bring their own Twingo R1 rally car. Also fresh from an outing on the tarmac of the Jim Clark Rally, it comes with a class win courtesy of journalist Henry Catchpole, but will be a static display on Sunday.

To grab a ride with Peter or Chris register on the day at the Renault UK stand in Showground/Paddock 1.

The French Car Show attracts Renault owners and clubs from across the country, with Donington Park Circuit gates open from 07:00hrs on Sunday morning and closes at 17:00hrs.
