The MSA Scottish Rally Championship is finely poised as it enters the second half of the season, with six points covering the four leading drivers.

Next weekend,  crews will be in Dumfries for the RSAC Scottish Rally, which is marking its eightieth anniversary.

SONY DSCThe Rally of the Midlands saw the REIS/Get Connected MSA Asphalt Rally Championship approach the halfway point of the season and with Melvyn Evans absent due to his shoulder and prior commitments, it was a chance for the other title contenders to stake their claim to this years championship. Reigning double champion Damian Cole & James Morgan (Focus WRC) took the initiative but were pegged back by Steve Simpson & Patrick Walsh (Impreza WRC) over the opening night, with the pair tied for the lead overnight. ‘Hello everyone, Here we are again at the end of another day at Rally New Zealand with both cars safely parked in Parc Fermé ready for the start of the last leg of the rally tomorrow. Dani Sordo finished day two of Brother Rally New Zealand where he started, in seventh place, now just over three minutes off the lead and 18 seconds behind the sixth placed driver Thierry Neuville.

The Prodrive-prepared MINI John Cooper Works WRC has run faultlessly all day, but Sordo was unable to gain ground on the cars ahead of him with all the lead cars having a trouble-free day on the hard compound Michelin tyre through the day’s seven stages. Read More »
