The epic race, twice around the clock at Silverstone, was back on our agenda in 2012 and it did not fail to deliver. Whilst the entry looked a bit thin, especially in the top class, we were assured that it would be a race long battle, with plenty of twists and turns. With the No.17 Neil Garner Motorsport Mosler MT900 and No.6 Team LNT Ginetta G55 GT3 who took pole position looking set to fight for the overall victory, it probably came as a surprise when half way through the race the No.28 MP Motorsport BMW E46 GTR took the lead which it only briefly lost after dawn, on Sunday morning. The scene is set for a spectacular showdown at next weekend’s International Rally Yorkshire, when 2009 and 2010 Champion Keith Cronin challenges to claim his third MSA British Rally Championship title. If he does so, he will become only the fourth driver to win three times and follow in the footsteps of Jimmy McRae, who won it five times, Roger Clark four times and Mark Higgins three times.
