The MSA British Rally Championship is still widely recognised as the world’s best national rally championship and the 2012 season attracted more media coverage than ever before.

Testament to the world wide appeal of the Championship is reflected by the rallybrc website recording 1,679,688 page impressions, 632,743 visits, that’s an average monthly total of 57,522 visitors. Samples throughout the season have realised a demographic split of 60% relating to visitors from around Europe of which approx 35% equates to the UK. Not too bad on us during the day as the standing water around made for hazardous conditions but in turn provided plenty of spectacular action for the large post Christmas crowd. Proving to be the class of the field were Peter Lloyd & Emma Todd (Impreza WRC) who won by the best part of 2 minutes, in the end. Paul Fowden & Jason Sugden (Impreza) were a good 2nd overall, 19 seconds ahead of Geoff Kitney & Ken Gibbard (Lancer Evo VI). Read More »

NGK Spark Plugs has confirmed that it will continue to support the BRC Challenge in 2013, the ninth year of the MSA British Rally Championship’s successful support series.

The interest for next year’s NGK Spark Plugs BRC Challenge has never been higher, which bodes well for an exciting season ahead. Apart from adding the classic Scottish Rally, the regulations remain practically unchanged, a minor tweak to the technical regulations making it easier to enter.

As in 2012, five rallies will count, but this year there are eight scoring opportunities including the Ulster double-header. Points and a half on the final round should keep the interest right to the end of the season in the Dorset and Hampshire forests of Rallye Sunseeker. Read More »

Sébastien LOEB is without question the number 1 of international rallying, as confirmed by the 2012 world rally ranking WRR (World Rally Ranking) promoted by the IRDA (International Rally Drivers Association), the first place is always occupied by the French driver, in second place the Finnish Mikko Hirvonen, the podium is completed by Norvegian  Andreas Mikkelsen. These three drivers are followed by 1026 rally drivers from the 5 continents and 79 countries in the world, after the running all international rallies in the FIA calendar 2012, have scored the necessary results to enter the World Rally Ranking.
