jaffa12 (7)Our first visit to Pembrey was a wet one, unsurprisingly. Not too bad on us during the day as the standing water around made for hazardous conditions but in turn provided plenty of spectacular action for the large post Christmas crowd. Proving to be the class of the field were Peter Lloyd & Emma Todd (Impreza WRC) who won by the best part of 2 minutes, in the end. Paul Fowden & Jason Sugden (Impreza) were a good 2nd overall, 19 seconds ahead of Geoff Kitney & Ken Gibbard (Lancer Evo VI). Read More »

rockingham12 (11)Much like in 2011 we visited the 2012 Rockingham Stages for just one day. The entry was down once more, sadly, but with the superb layout there was always something to watch, in fact often you do not know where to look. The opening day saw Paul King & Alicia Miles (Escort MkII) set the pace for the first 5 stages until disaster struck. They hit a deer at the start of the 6th stage, the final one of Saturday and saw their lead disappear as Richard Edwards & Andy Hollingham (Escort MkII) took over at the top. They took the place back on the first stage of Sunday and then continued to build their lead through the rest of the event. King eventually won by 41 seconds with Edwards a comfortable 2nd. grizedale12 (10)It was an icy one for our first visit to the Grizedale Stages in 3 years. It played it’s part too as 2011 winners Dave Wright & Michael Wilkinson (Evo IX) ere early victims on the first stage. Pre-event most people would have picked Paul Bird & Kirsty Riddick (Focus WRC) in car no.2 for the win, but they did not have a good start either and only took the lead on stage 4 after a sluggish time on stage 1 saw Alex Allingham & Mark Glennerster (Impreza). Bird then retired on the final stage which allowed Allingham to take a well deserved and comfortable victory. Read More »
