The 2013 NGK Spark Plugs BRC Challenge (NGK BRCC) will not only again feature the Fiesta SportChallenge, but will see also see the introduction of a new series, the Clio 172 Rally Cup.

The NGK BRCC provides competitors with some of the best value stage mileage in the UK, it runs in front of the BRC field on gravel rallies and has a massive £7000 end of season prize fund, has heralded fantastic competition and is shaping up to be even better this season.

Brand new for 2013 will see the inaugural running of the Clio 172 Rally Cup. Promoted by Rallyschool.co.uk and based on a Renault Clio 172 Cup road car, the series is intended to provide a low cost solution that packs plenty of performance.

Starting with a low cost donor car, adding essential safety equipment and a kit of parts including suspension, limited slip differential and under-body protection, it is estimated that the completed rally versions will cost around £8000. The new series will provide event by event and end of season prizes.

The established Fiesta SportChallenge, which is supported and promoted by M-Sport, will be open to the tried and tested Fiesta ST, as well as the new shape Fiesta MS1 and R1 cars. Both series will follow all eight rounds of this year’s BRCC calendar.

Championship Manager, Mark Taylor:
“Both the Fiesta SportChallenge and Clio 172 Rally Cup gives competitors two bites of the cherry, to compete in cars that are very capable of winning the events and Championship outright provides them with an opportunity to take the BRCC spoils as well as receive credit, rewards and accolades for winning their own series. Add this to the chance of competing on the very same stages, comparing times with some of the best rally drivers in Europe, well, where do I sign!!”

The 2013 events calendar has eight qualifying rounds of which competitors count their five best scores:

Round 1 – 6th April Rally North Wales Challenge Rally, Welshpool
Round 2 – 4th May Pirelli Challenge Rally, Carlisle
Round 3 – 31st May / 1st June Jim Clark Challenge Rally, Duns
