Alex is one of the favourites to win the hard fought R2 category and has enlisted the help of experienced co-driver Jamie Edwards from Wrexham to guide him through the stages.

Along with a class win in his sights, Alex will be gunning for the coveted Pirelli Star Driver nomination which is awarded to a driver who shows an outstanding performance during each event in the championship.

The winner of the shootout at the end of the year will receive a fully funded drive in the series in 2014.

“I’m really excited about the British Rally Championship and our chances this year.  Our 2012 season was a development year which has given me the experience and confidence to mount a full attack on the championship this time around.  It would be fantastic to get a class win or even be in with a chance of the overall title, but I have my eye on the Pirelli Star Driver nominations and I will be doing everything I can to kick the championship off with a good result. I’m really looking forward to it!”.

Rally North Wales will see British Rally Championship competitors leave the Welshpool city centre start at around midday on Saturday 6th April to tackle over 50 stage miles in and around the infamous Dyfi and Gartheniog forest complex, including some stages under the cover of darkness. The action will kick off again early on Sunday Morning and the remaining crews will contest a further 30 competitive miles before returning to the Welshpool finish ramp at around 3pm that day.

Alex is supported by Buzz Sweets and is run by Buzz Motorsport.
