GeorgeMorrisonInActionPR1Some 3 years after he last contested the NGK Spark Plugs BRC Challenge (NGKBRCC), George Morrison will return to the popular MSA British Rally Championship feeder series in 2013 as he competes for RC2 class honours in his reliable Peugeot 205. Morrison, 35 from Bilsthorpe in Newark will head to Welshpool for the opening round of the series Rally North Wales and is keen to build on the success of his last championship outing.

George has spent the last year upgrading his Peugeot and will be looking to repeat his previous domination of the up-to-1400 class this year. There are seven events in the calendar which will take competitors to all corners of the UK and George will have the added advantage of experiencing many of the events which will form the championship in 2013.

“It feels great to be back in the NGKBRCC as I had such a wonderful time in the series during 2010, even managing to win my class.  Each and every one of the events provide a different set of challenges and it’s great to see Rally Scotland included this year as I haven’t competed on that event before.  We haven’t got the most powerful car in the championship but with a steady set of results behind me I`m hoping I can repeat my 2010 success”.

George is no stranger to rallying after getting involved in the sport back in 2002 with the Armed Forces Rally Team who are a regular sight in British Rallying with their instantly recognisable Land Rovers. After becoming a technician for the team, he quickly realised competing was far more enjoyable and leapt into the co-drivers seat and then behind the wheel, but had a desire to try a more mainstream rally car. In 2010 he progressed into the NGKBRCC and will attempt the series again in his self run 205.

Rally North Wales will see the NGKBRCC competitors leave the Welshpool city centre start ceremony at midday on Saturday 6th April to tackle over 50 stage miles in and around the infamous Dyfi and Gartheniog forest complex before returning to the finish ramp at around 9pm that evening.
