The MSA British Rally Championship’s Mark Taylor and Caroline Reid will be observing this weekend’s Granite City Rally, invited to the Aberdeen-based event by the organising committee which is keen for the rally to be a round of the BRC.

BRC Manager Mark Taylor:
“The Granite City Rally invited the BRC team to observe their event as a potential future round of the championship. Whilst it is very early days, I welcome the opportunity and I think it reflects positively on a proactive and aspiring team of organisers here in Aberdeen.”

The popular Scottish Rally Championship counter, led away this year by former BRC Champion David Bogie, has already attracted several BRC crews who are using the gravel rally as an alternative to the recently cancelled Rally North Wales.

BRC competitors to look out for are: 2012 BRC third placed Osian Pryce & Dale Furniss, Timothy Cathcart & Barry McNulty, Pirelli Star Driver Mark Donnelly & Dai Roberts, James Ford & Steve Hartley, Jonny Greer & Brian Crawford, Brendon Cumiskey & Conor Foley and Desi Henry & Damien Duffin.

At the other end of the country in another seaside town, Minehaed, the Somerset Stages has also attracted a selection of BRC and NGK BRC Challenge crews, with 2012 championship runner-up Tom Cave & Ieuan Thomas joined by Callum Black & James Morgan, James Grint & Anthony Lichfield, Alex Parpottas & Jamie Edwards, Harry Threlfall & Andy Bull and Harry’s dad, NGK BRCC newcomer Michael Threlfall with Rob Harrison.
