A lot of drivers, mostly the foreign drivers, who have participated to the Rally Azores, couldn’t have carried out in the last days the practices of the special stages and so they couldn’t have had the correct pacenotes. This is happened in some traits of the official track for the extreme conducting environmentals because it was foggy, the visibility was about 5 metres in many traits, also the abundant  rains have made many parts of the course virtually impassables. Alex Parpottas/Chris Davies Ford Fiesta R2After the opening round of the MSA British Rally Championship (BRC) was cancelled due to the treacherous icy conditions in the Welsh forests, rally star Alex Parpottas heads to Carlisle next weekend for the Pirelli Richard Burns Foundation Rally. Parpottas, 19 from Hoddesdon in Hertfordshire will be setting his sights firmly on securing a Pirelli Star driver nomination as he pilots his Ford Fiesta on the gravel event which is based around the infamous Kielder forest complex. AaronMcClureInCarCumbrian rally star Aaron McClure will finally kick off his assault on the 2013 NGK BRC Challenge (NGKBRCC) this weekend with newly introduced season opener, The Pirelli Richard Burns Foundation Rally. With the first round of the championship cancelled due to the treacherous snowy conditions in Wales, 18 year old McClure will make the short trip north to Carlisle to contest the event in his newly acquired Ford Fiesta ST. Bill Gwynne Rallyschool International is launching a dedicated Tarmac School for 2013. The School’s owner Bill Gwynne has been developing the school after recently running successful events at the Blyton Park Driving Centre.  The courses are open to drivers at all levels of experience, from Juniors to competitors looking to shave a second or two off their stage times.

FIA World Endurance Championship leader Allan McNish along with fellow Briton Oliver Jarvis race their respective hybrid diesel Audi sportscars in Belgium on Saturday (4 May) aiming for a trouble-free “dress rehearsal” for Le Mans.

The Spa Six Hours is the final race before next month’s annual 24 Hour race in France (22-23 June) and sees a three-car hybrid diesel Audi R18 e-tron quattro entry from defending Le Mans race winners Audi Sport Team Joest. Read More »

Justin Mcarthy-Eburru 200The two car Tomcat Africa Rally Raid team impressed mightily on the recent “Eburru 200” rally raid which took place on Soysambu Ranch and Conservancy. Both V8 powered Tomcats were amongst the pace setters all weekend and only an electrical issue prevented the TVR powered car of Eddie Belcher and Crispin “Whiz” Kennedy from taking the outright win… the pair eventually finished a close fought second in the car category!
