dw13_dukprev01Bentham’s David Wright will continue his 2013 BTRDA rally championship campaign next weekend when he contests the Dukeries rally in Nottinghamshire.

After an excellent result on the Plains rally last month when he finished first in class and fourth overall Wright is hoping for another good performance in his Kumho Tyres, Proflex, Drenth, York Brewery, Millers Oils, Owen Developments and Grove Hill Garage-supported Mitsubishi Evo 9. Alex Parpottas / Jamie Edwards Ford FiestaMSA British Rally Championship hopeful Alex Parpottas achieved his goal last weekend on the closed public roads in the Scottish Borders, as he tackled the third round of the series The Jim Clark Rally.  The first all asphalt event of the season took place around the market town of Kelso and the 19 year old from Hoddesdon in Hertfordshire recorded a creditable 12th overall and 4th in class  in his Buzz Sweets Ford Fiesta R2. Benjamyn McKay / Jason McKay Renault TwingoAfter a disappointing non-finish on the opening round of the MSA British Rally Championship, 20 year old Ben Mckay drove with a mature head to win the R1 category and Twingo Renaultsport R1 Trophy UK on last weekend’s Jim Clark Rally. Hosted by the Scottish Borders market town of Kelso, the event marked the first foray onto asphalt for the young rally star as he attempted to acclimatise to the surface for the first time in his newly acquired Twingo. The Twingo Renaultsport R1 Trophy UK points table is dead level after round two of the one-make series, this weekend’s Jim Clark Rally.

Benjamyn Mckay and co-driving dad Jason took top points on the 130-mile closed public road event in the Scottish Borders, despite having stopped on the very same Friday night stage that claimed his rival Harry Threlfall.

The pair started with a blast through the now-famous Duns town centre spectator stage, along with the rest of the MSA British Rally Championship contenders and it was an ultra-close ding-dong battle in the making. Read More »

– Dani Sordo and Carlos del Barrio finished as runners-up
– Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen finished in eighth place

Continuing the racing spirit right to the end, Dani Sordo and Carlos del Barrio finished as runners-up at the Acropolis Rally. The Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team crew picked up their second podium finish of the season, after taking third place at Monte-Carlo. Both MG KX Momentum racers Jason Plato and Sam Tordoff say they are looking forward to one of the most thrilling challenges on the 2013 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship calendar at Oulton Park this weekend.

The series moves to the swooping Cheshire track for the fourth meeting of the year, and both drivers are confident of zeroing on in the points lead over the three-race weekend.

Plato, who has won twice so far this season, thinks that progress that the team has made with the two-litre turbocharged race car will reap rewards around the undulating track. “We are going there in great shape,” thinks Plato. Read More »
