Vuhl GutierrezIt was announced today that the 21-year old rookie F1 driver, Esteban Gutiérrez, will play a key role in the global launch of the exciting VŪHL 05 trackday supercar at next month’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 11-14).

An example of the yet-to-be-seen 05 will be displayed on Stand 12, while a second car will carry out demonstration runs on the course each day as a member of the ‘First Glance’ class. Gutiérrez will be a welcome addition to the VŪHL team throughout Sunday July 14 and take the wheel for the two demonstration runs that day. WWRS Carlisle13Marty McCormack and co-driver Phil Clarke are on a roll. They entered last Saturday’s (June 22) inaugural DMACK Carlisle Stages rally in the lead of the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship, courtesy of a hard-fought second place in round one and outright victory in round two. Six stages totalling 44 miles later, they had collected another trophy and further extended their series lead. Read More »

Despite tricky conditions the JD Classics race team enjoyed success after one of its three-car strong entry brought home an outright win in the 45-minute Le Mans Legend race, which supports the official Le Mans 24 Hours.

Round three of both the Citroën Racing Trophy UK and British Rally Championship return to Scotland again this weekend, but this time it’s to the border forests, rather than the tarmac roads encountered on round two. Tarmac or gravel, it seems no problem to Finn, Jukka Korhonen, who dominated the opening rally in the Kielder forests, then took a superb win on the Jim Clark Rally, but not without a strong challenge from Tom Cave. After a successful Preview Day in Dumfries High Street last weekend, the first car on the start ramp is quickly coming into sight for the 2013 RSAC Scottish Rally.

On Friday, enthusiasts and families will have the chance to see the cars having their safety checks completed at the Ice Bowl in King Street from 2.00 pm.

Into the early evening, crews of the top MSA British Championship drivers will be at the Ceremonial Start in the High Street.  Starting at 7.00 pm there is also a chance for you to try your hand at the Pirelli Rally Simulator and buy a Rally Spectator programme which has details of all the stages, time schedule, safety information and driver profiles.  Priced £5, this includes a £1 donation to our chosen charity, Help for Heroes.
