Harry Threlfall, the 19 year old Twingo Renaultsport Trophy driver, has become the third finalist for the BRC LIVE Media Trophy in association with Prodrive. With yet another very tough decision for judges, Harry pipped several other contenders for the third nomination.

The judges were extremely impressed with the effort of MSA British Rally Championship crews to achieve the task of local radio coverage for their campaigns, but it was felt that Harry just did a fraction more to promote his achieved coverage.

BRC crews are being constantly monitored and assessed by the Media Trophy judges who include BRCLIVE presenter Neil Cloughley, former BRC co-driver Trevor Agnew, The Sun rallies motorsport editor Paul Evans, Ben Sayer and Steve Smith from Prodrive, BRC media man Simon Moss and VIPR Media’s Rebecca Prosser.

Cloughley commented, “It’s interesting to see those who pay attention to press releases and those who don’t. Personally, if I had the opportunity to spend a day with a World Rally Championship works level team, testing their latest Mini S2000 John Cooper Works car, I would be attacking each task with every effort I could and it appears many of our BRC crews are doing just that, which is great.”

Social media, marketing and promotions are now essential skills for any aspiring rally driver and we now have Jon Armstrong, James Ford and Harry Threlfall all due to face the judges at the Prodrive HQ after the final round of the championship. This leaves just three remaining places to be fought for and one wildcard entry of the judge’s choice. The finalist chosen as the winner will join the British Rally Champion at the Prodrive-run and organised test.

While the BRC enjoys a bit of a summer break, the crews are given their toughest task yet, to get a news interview or content piece about their BRC campaign on local or national Television, or come up with the most creative video promoting their BRC campaign. Evidence to be provided to the judges, which will then be assessed and the winner will be announced just after round four; Todds Leap Rally N.I. on August 23rd to 24th.

Competitors must submit their website links to Simon Moss before August 23rd.
