Unseasonably pleasant weather saw the Britcar 1000kms completed in superb conditions. Qualification gave no real indication of the final result as the Team LNT Ginetta G55 of Lawrence Tomlinson / Mike Simpson / Nathan Freke retired before quarter distance whilst the fellow front row qualifier Nigel Garner Motorsport Mosler MT900R of Javier Morcillo / Manual Cintrano / Paul White lost the final podium spot with just over a lap to go. The victory went to the MP Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage GT2 of Richard Abra / Mark Poole by over 2 laps, after a commanding perfomance from the 3rd hour of the race onwards. The Horsepower Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of Paul Bailey / Andy Schulz / Tom Ferrier developed a rather worrying drive train sound with a quarter of the race to go but held on to take 2nd overall. A lap further back, completing the podium and pushing hard from the final pit stop was the Nigel Mustill run Riley of Nigel Mustill / Bob Berridge / Gareth Evans.
In the classes 5th overall and winners of class 2 were Ian Loggie / Chris Jones / Julian Westwood in their Team Parker Porsche 997 Cup Car. In the production classes it was a fine 8th overall and class P3 honours to the Nissan GT Academy Team RJN Nissan 370Z of Ashley Oldfield / Salman Al Khater / Tomas Scheckter. Class P2 winners and 9th overall were Graham Johnson / Mike Robinson in their self run Seat Leon Cupra. In 12th overall and first in class P1 was the Mark Cunningham run Seat Supa Copa of Mark Cunningham / Peter Cunningham / Paul Horton and last but by no means least were the class P4 winners Danny Russell / Duncan Rodgers / Chris Knox in their Intersport Mini Cooper.
