tempest13 (128)Amidst the stormy weather we got a largely dry day down on the Tempest. As always it is split into two events and on the Tempest 4 rally Robert Swann & Aled Edwards (Impreza WRC) took victory from a flying Jamie Anderson & Chris Brooks (Evo IX) by just 7 seconds. Anderson was on it from the start and initially led in his group N Evo but Swann took the lead after stage 4 and steadily built it up to 28 seconds by the final stage but it almost went all wrong on the final stage as he dropped 21 seconds to Anderson on the final stage, but held on to take victory.

Behind in the battle for third place John Lloyd & Adrian Cavenagh (Impreza WRC) held the position going into the final stage but Tristan Bailey & James How (Lancer WRC) set a superb final stage time to grab 3rd whilst Lloyd dropped back to 5th behind a hard charging Andrew Barnes & Guy Simmons (Impreza WRC) with only 6 seconds separating all 3 crews.

In the Tempest 2 there was a comfortable win for Callum Black & Paul Wakely (DS3 R3) by almost a minute and a half. Leigh & Chris Armstrong took 2nd place leading the numerous Escort MkII runners home. The podium was completed by Simon Smith & Sylvia Earle (Escort MkII).
