McLaren EstreAhead of the 2014 season, McLaren GT has confirmed the addition of French driver Kevin Estre to its factory driver line-up for this year.  The announcement follows Estre’s impressive performances throughout the 2013 season, which concluded with a podium finish at the Baku City Challenge in the 12C GT3 with McLaren GT customer team Hexis Racing.

The 25-year old has shown his abilities in GT racing over the past few seasons, claiming 13 victories, and, in the German Porsche Carrera Cup title in 2013, having been Porsche Mobil1 Supercup  runner-up and Rookie of the Year in 2012, and 2011 Porsche Matmut Carrera Cup France champion.  Estre has also shown his abilities in GT endurance racing, taking part in the 24 hour races in Dubai and Daytona, as well as Sebring 12 Hours last year. WWRS14 HopkirkRallying legend Paddy Hopkirk will be celebrated in the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship with the award of a major new trophy for the winner of Category 1 at the end of each season.

It was 50 years ago today (17 January) that Hopkirk started the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally in his works Mini Cooper registered ’33 EJB’. He went on to score a landmark victory on the event with a drive that captured the nation’s imagination and instantly make himself a household name. Now, the biggest championship for historic rally cars in Britain will honour that achievement with the Paddy Hopkirk Trophy. Read More »
