World RallyX Autosport– New headline sponsor boosts UK’s latest world championship event
– Two-day extravaganza titled: the Autosport World RX of Great Britain
– Additional support generated via Haymarket Consumer Group titles

Lydden Hill is delighted to announce Autosport as the title sponsor for the UK’s first ever round of the prestigious new FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy. The eagerly anticipated event – to be staged at the famous venue in Kent over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend (24-25 May) – is now officially titled as the ‘Autosport World RX of Great Britain’.

Established more than 60 years ago, Autosport has long been the UK’s best selling weekly motor sport magazine and the Autosport.com website is revered internationally as the world’s leading source of breaking motor sport news.

“This is very exciting news,” confirmed Lydden Hill owner Pat Doran. “We are elated that Autosport has agreed to support what’s a momentous milestone in the history of both Lydden Hill and rallycross. The sport was born here at Lydden and now, more than 50 years later, has reached official world championship status with the inaugural Autosport World RX of Great Britain. We have already sold record numbers of advanced tickets and, with extra promotion via Autosport and its sister titles, we are now expecting a bumper sell-out crowd as befits such a special occasion.”

As well as providing substantial pre-event print and on-line support via Autosport’s extensive platforms, the far-reaching title and media partnership also includes further event promotion by way of other major brands within the Haymarket Consumer Media group. These include Autocar and Motorsport News as well as Pistonheads.com, the UK’s largest website for owners and enthusiasts of sports and performance cars

“We are proud to be supporting such an outstanding and exciting milestone in UK motor sport history as the Autosport World RX of Great Britain,” said Charles Bradley editor of Autosport. “Since being founded in 1950, Autosport has reported tirelessly on the evolution of motor sport and the advent of a new FIA sanctioned World Rallycross Championship is the latest thrilling development on that timeline. It not only provides a spectacular new globe-trotting show for existing race and rally fans to savour but also opens up the sport to a fresh, younger ‘X-Games’ style of audience which has huge significance for all of us involved in this sector. For lots of reasons the Autosport World RX of Great Britain is an event not to be missed.”
