Italia Portugal14aAfter a tricky start to SS2, the opening stage of Day One proper, Max Rendina had a strong morning overall at Rally de Portugal in his Ralliart Italy-run Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X. A few teething troubles with pace notes on the alien Portuguese roads cost Rendina the lead of the WRC 2 Group N Cup on SS2, but he retook control on SS3, before winning four of day’s six stages. Even a 10 second penalty for late check-in before SS4 and a puncture on SS5 couldn’t stop him as he extended his midday lead of 26.5 seconds to 1 minute 38 seconds by the end of Day One. Read More »

Anticipation in the motor rallying world is building ahead of round two of the MSA British Rally Championship, the Jim Clark Rally at the end of May, with would-be spectators and competitors wondering what perils and challenges lie ahead.

The organisers have completed their route selection and reconnaissance and once approved, the route will broadly follow last year’s highly successful format, with the BRC’s Jim Clark Rally running over Friday and Saturday 30/31st May.

There will be eight stages on Friday evening, including the ever popular double run through the streets of Duns, the increase releasing time on Saturday to include a new(ish) stage which will also be run twice. Read More »

The new Audi RS 5 DTM made a strong impression during the first official pre-season DTM tests. Five of the eight possible fastest lap times at the Hungaroring, Hungary went to the Audi drivers who spooled off a total of 7,154 test kilometres (1,633 laps).
