Scotsman awarded Segrave Trophy for second time in successful Audi career.

Reigning world sports car champion Allan McNish has been awarded the prestigious Segrave Trophy for the second time in his illustrious career.

The Dumfries-born driver who announced his retirement from Audi’s Le Mans sports-prototype racing programme four months ago, was awarded the silverware at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, London today (Tuesday 15 Apr).

McNish became the first Briton to claim the Tourist Trophy – by winning the Silverstone 6 Hour race last April – the Le Mans 24 Hours and the FIA World Endurance Championship all in the same year. Read More »

The 2014 Blancpain Endurance Series got underway this weekend at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, Italy, with McLaren GT present for the third consecutive year. Customer teams ART Grand Prix and Boutsen-Ginion Racing both fielded a two car line-up with the 12C GT3, and showed early pace during the weekend when McLaren GT factory driver Alvaro Parente claimed pole position for ART Grand Prix. Despite the hard-fought race with a grid of 38 cars, the 12C GT3 completed a lights-to-flag victory, and the French-based team secured a double podium with McLaren GT factory driver Kevin Estre in the team’s sister car securing third.

The 2014 Roger Albert Clark Rally (28-30 November) will have a completely new look as the event starts a new era with Sunderland as the host city.

With the rally start, finish and HQ all based in Sunderland, the route will make extensive use of the Kielder forest complex and will take in several stages that are completely new to the event in a total competitive route of up to 190 stage miles.

The move north to Sunderland is being supported by Sunderland Live, the events arm of Sunderland City Council, and has allowed rally manager Colin Heppenstall to give the rally a fresh new look. Read More »
