Connor_woodpecker_2013Midlands based Eventsigns Ltd has announced their sponsorship of the Woodpecker Rally which will be held on 30th August 2014.  The popular local event which is based at the Ludlow Racecourse is a round of the BTRDA National gravel rally championship and the MSA Welsh Rally championship which brings some 150 competitors from all over the UK to compete in the forests around Shropshire.

Organised by the Sixy and Worcester Motor Club, the Woodpecker Rally is one of the most popular events on the rallying calendar for both competitors and spectators who flock to the stages to see some of the best drivers in the country reach speeds of over 100mph down the narrow forest tracks of infamous stages such as Haye Park and Bringewood.  These values are key to the support offered by Eventsigns for the 2014 event.  “The Woodpecker Rally is known countrywide for its fantastic stages and brilliant organisation” said Vaughan Allcock, Director.  “We have been involved with the event for some 20 years, so this seemed a natural progression to raise our profile with such an iconic event in the BTRDA calendar”.

Pete Wood, Clerk of the Course and rally organiser comments “We have enjoyed the support of Vaughan and his team for many years and the title sponsorship of our event is a fantastic opportunity for both the Woodpecker Rally and Eventsigns Ltd. The event will be benefiting from the expertise of Eventsigns in artwork production for all signage across the rally, the use of timing equipment and the use of their very impressive start ramp. We look forward to this being a long a prosperous relationship for many years to come”.

Eventsigns Ltd was initially created in 1984 to provide a “Flying Banner” for sponsors on televised motor rallies – A service that continues to this day on Wales Rally GB (the final round of the FIA World Rally Championship). The company has since evolved to cater for all sectors of signage including signs for business, sporting and promotional events, vehicle graphics and wraps.

The 2014 Woodpecker will once again be based at Ludlow Racecourse on 29th August for pre-event scrutiny and again on Saturday 30th August for the service halt and finish celebrations. More information on spectator access, times and locations will be issued on the event website nearer to the event and entries open in mid-July.
