WWRS14 Hamsterley AThe special award winners for the third round of the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship have been announced following the Tour of Hamsterley (26 April).

Mike Tomkinson and Shaun Whitehurst were unfortunate enough to post the first retirement of the rally when their Ford Escort Mk2 developed problems on the opening stage. The last retirement was the Alfa Romeo of John Everard/Mark Sharley, which slid into a muddy ditch less than a mile from the end of the rally. Both crews will receive a £100 voucher from West Wales Rally Spares, as will Ford Escort crew Barry Stevenson-Wheeler/John Pickavance after their number came out of the hat in the draw for a third voucher. SONY DSCBlair Brown and the QTS Group backed rally team, broke through the fog, mist and eye watering stench of fuel at last week’s McCombie Builders Granite City rally to take second place position in round two of the 2014 Ecosse 205 Challenge in their newly built Peugeot 205.  The Aberdeen based rally was also the host of round three in the Scottish Rally Championships where Blair and Co-driver Richard Simmonds from Duns took third place in SRC class three finishing 46th overall out of 111 starters.
