Aaron McClure 	Elliott Edmondson 	Ford Fiesta R2The opening round of the MSA British Rally Championship was certainly one to remember for 19 year old Aaron McClure as he contested last weekend’s Pirelli Carlisle RBF Rally, finishing a solid eight overall and third in class BRC2. Competing in the series for the very first time, the season kicked off with one of the toughest events in the calendar as crews would tackle the infamous Kielder forest complex over the two days of competition. Proving that there’s plenty of fight left in the 48 year old, Richard Sykes opened his 2014 NGK Spark Plugs BRC Challenge Trophy account in fine style this weekend, he and co-driver Emma Morrison taking victory by just over a minute in the ‘Challenge section of the Pirelli Carlisle RB Foundation Rally.

The Midlander was fastest on all but one of the six stages in the infamous Kielder Forest complex, as the dusty conditions and super fast and smooth stages clearly suited the Citroën crew.

At the Carlisle City centre finish Sykes said:
